BUTLER TWP. -- Valley Regional Fire Department is collecting monetary, clothing and toy donations for a family that was left homeless by a fire that destroyed their Beech Mountain home Sunday night.
The family, a couple and their 10-year-old daughter, lost everything when the fire destroyed their Lake Vista Circle home.
Children’s size-12 clothing and size-7 shoes are needed, as well as women’s size-9 pants, medium shirts and size-7 shoes, and men’s XL shirts, size-38 pants and size-11 shoes.
Donations can be dropped off at or mailed to the firehouse at 14 W. Butler Drive, Drums, Pa. 18222. Checks should be sent to the attention of Sue Bognar of Valley Regional Fire and Rescue.
Fire Chief Rich Bognar said volunteers will be taking the girl Christmas shopping early this evening and will provide a small tree and presents for the parents to pick up after their daughter goes to bed.
