KINGSTON TWP. – More than 100 Solid Cactus employees soon will relocate to a Drums office where fellow e-commerce company Network Solutions is situated.

The move was confirmed this week by Solid Cactus co-founder Scott Sanfilippo and Susan Datz Edelman, a spokeswoman for Web.com, which owns both companies. We have just over 100 Solid Cactus employees who will join the approximately 200 Network Solutions employees in Drums, said Edelman. The move is expected to take place in March.

After closing its Wilkes-Barre offices in the Jewelcor Building on North Wilkes-Barre Boulevard four years ago, Solid Cactus moved to the site of the former Westmoreland School, 106 S. Lehigh St., Shavertown.

The move to the Network Solutions site along Azalea Road in Drums, Butler Township, will not result in any job losses and the companies will keep their separate identities. Solid Cactus will continue to operate as it has since being purchased by Web.com in 2009, said Edelman.

Web.com, a publicly traded company based in Jacksonville, Fla., acquired Solid Cactus in 2009 and Network Solutions in 2011.

Solid Cactus co-founders Sanfilippo and Joe Palko spun off Solid Cactus in 2001 from another Internet venture, The Ferret Store.

According to previously published articles in The Times Leader, Network Solutions handles domain name registration for businesses, while Solid Cactus designs or redesigns e-commerce sites. Solid Cactus has designed or redesigned more than 3,500 such sites in its history, according to its website.

Web.com, which trades on the NASDAQ exchange, closed down .21 cents Thursday to end the day at $15.08 a share, which is a 28.16 percent increase since Jan. 3, 2012.
