The United Hebrew Institute held a food drive in November. Fifth-grade students studied about Dwaina Brooks, a woman from Dallas, Texas, who helped prepare dinners for 300 community members every Friday for several years. The students decided to ask the entire school to participate in a food drive for non-perishable items. More than 250 items and monetary donations were collected and given to Sarah's Pantry, a Jewish Family Service organization. Some of the participating students, from left, clockwise, are Jonathan Rutta, Nadav Griver, Avi Rizel, Saraea Kaplan, Sinclaire Ogof, Marilyn Ogof, Adina Bell, Olivia Roth, Coby Kornfeld, Samuel Schwartz and Harrison Levi.
