Girl Scouts from all over the country celebrated the start of their cookie season with a national sleepover on Jan. 12. Members from Service Unit 314 of the Crestwood School District participated in the event at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Mountain Top. The event included an ice cream social featuring Girl Scout cookies, singing and dancing, crafts and manicures by 37314. The highlight of the evening was an online interactive program sponsored by Little Brownie Bakers, makers of local Girl Scout cookies. The program consisted of a movie made by Girl Scouts on sales and safety tips. The girls were also able to communicate through Twitter and Facebook accounts with other Girl Scouts in the country participating in the sleepover. At the event, from left, are Taylor Thomas, Megan Croke, Grace Anstett, Isabella Evans and Caitlin Croke.
