WILKES-BARRE TWP. - Two gunmen robbed the Wendy‚??s fast food restaurant on Schecter Drive early Saturday morning and forced employees into a freezer, police said.
Two employees were taking out the trash around 1 a.m. when two men wearing ski masks and brandishing handguns approached, police said. The gunmen forced the employees into the restaurant and made the manager empty the safe. The gunmen took the employees‚?? cell phones and wallets before placing them in a walk-in freezer and blocking the door. The manager‚??s car also was stolen during the robbery and later recovered near the Wendy‚??s restaurant at the Pilot Truck Stop on state Route 315 in Pittston Township. Police said one of the handguns was recovered in the car.
