WRIGHT TWP. – Crestwood 145-pounder Matt Hammerstone had quite the day on Thursday. He grabbed career win No. 100 when he defeated Abington Heights' Matt Carr 8-5. Prior to that, he recently verbally committed to continue his athletic and academic career at Division I Bloomsburg next fall.

Hammerstone got the milestone win in dramatic fashion as he trailed Carr and had to come from behind to lace the victory.

Matt has been the cornerstone of our program, Crestwood coach J.J. Konigus said. It's great to see him reach this mark against a quality kid. Carr is an outstanding wrestler.

Despite Hammerstone's big win, Abington knocked off Crestwood 45-29.
