WILKES-BARRE – Kyle Hammond scored a career-high 36 points as King's College defeated PSU Hazleton 101-69 in a men's basketball game.

Ian Oakley scored 14 for the Monarchs, while Matt Fiorino chipped in 11 points and Tim O'Shea added 10.

Ashkan Naderi led PSU with 24 points, all of it coming from behind the three-point arc.

Susquehanna 61, Misericordia 56

Susquehanna turned around an 11-point second half deficit to win on the road.

Cael Evans led the Cougars with 14 points and 13 rebounds while Steve Ware added 10 points and 13 rebounds

Dan Robinson poured in 28 points to lead PSU Brandywine to victory.

Twelve players from Wilkes found a way to a score in a win at home against PSU Hazleton.

Elena Stambone led Wilkes with 24 points, while Chelsea Brown added 12 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.

Taylor Smith led PSU with 12 points.

Marywood 67, Misericordia 57

Brittany Hang went for 24 points and Lindsey Schroth added 12 more for Marywood.

Lauren Smicherko led the Cougars with 16 points and Tyan McDaniel dropped in 12.

PSU Brandywine 76, PSU Wilkes-Barre 64

Amanda Congialdi's 21 points paced PSU Brandywine to a win at home.

PSU Wilkes-Barre's Tiffany Rochester led all scorers with 23 points to go with 17 rebounds.

Misericordia duo named All-Tournament

Misericordia's Erin Roberts and Megan Lannigan were named to the All-Tournament team at the recently-held NCAA Division III Final Four.

In addition, Roberts was the recipient of the Elite 89 award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's championships.

Trio of Monarchs lauded

Former King's College field hockey standouts Debbie Wychock, a Coughlin graduate; Jenera Quinones, a Meyers product; and Amy Mitchell have been named to the Middle Atlantic Conference All-Century Team, the MAC announced Monday.

Wychock played at King's from 2005-08 and was a three-time All-Freedom Conference selection.She is King's all-time leading scorer with 163 points on a school-record 72 goals with 19 assists.

Quinones was a three-time All-Freedom Conference selection who was named the league most valuable player in 2010 and 2011. She was the first player in King's history to be named to the NFHCA Division III All-American squad. Her 157 total points, 63 goals, and 31 assists are all second on the King's all-time list.

Mitchell was a four-year letter-winner and three-year starter at King's from 1998-2001. As a standout defender, Mitchell was a major part of a King's program that began a run in which the Lady Monarchs won at least 10 games each season from 1999 through 2012.
