Hanover Area

7 p.m. today

The Coaches: Hanover Area's Ron Hummer (34-38, 7th year); Meyers' Corry Hanson (5-10, 2nd year)

Last Meeting: Meyers 21-15 in 2011

All-Time Series: Meyers leads 41-29-3

Quick Fact: Meyers' victory last year snapped a four-game losing streak to Hanover Area.

Scouting Hanover Area: The young Hawkeyes continue to struggle to find their footing. They lost 34-13 to Northwest, but were tied 13-13 entering the fourth quarter. They lost momentum by allowing a kick return touchdown with six seconds left until halftime. It was the fourth kick brought back for a score against them this season.

The offense hasn't scored over 1 5 points this season. Its nine touchdowns are the second-lowest in the WVC, although RB Brian Belcher and FB Dillon Ropietski have brought some life to the running game.

Scouting Meyers: The Mohawks had a chance to make a statement against Lake-Lehman last Saturday. They led 14-13 at halftime, but the 50-29 loss said more work is needed.

Penalties, 16 of them, were crushing. Many were for false starts and offside, two that are drive killers. The passing offense went astray, joining a running attack that has also sputtered at times. RB Parrish Bennett has rushed the ball only 20 times in the last two games after 59 carries through the first three.

What To Expect: This could get interesting for one reason. Bennett played for Hanover Area last season where he led the WVC in rushing. The Hawkeyes will be pumped up to stop him.
