The Hanover Township Lions Club is holding a fundraiser for Shannon Claherty. Claherty, 19, a 2012 graduate of Holy Redeemer High School and a freshman at King's College, was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She is an avid basketball player and participated with the Emerald Isle Step Dancers for many years. She is the daughter of Dan Claherty and Debbie Semyon, owners of Pizza Bella. The fundraiser is to help defray the cost of numerous trips to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for treatment. Donations can be sent to M & T Bank, Shannon Claherty Fund, Cross Roads Office, 722 Sans Souci Highway, Hanover Township, Pa. 18706. For more information contact Frank Ciavarella Jr., president, Hanover Township Lions Club, at 970-8662 or any club member. Participating Lions members, from left, first row, are Ciavarella and Cy Korba, secretary. Second row: Jack Casey, Bill Sweeney, Jack Wilkins, Bernie Mozloom and Harry Besecker.
