Hazle Twp. fire results in fatality

HAZLE TWP. – The Luzerne County Coroner's office confirmed a woman died in a fire Sunday night in a residence at 1354 N. Church St.

Deputy Coroner John Paletski said the identity of the 47-year-old victim is being withheld.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 8:30 p.m.

The fire shut down a section of North Church Street that is also state Route 309.

It reopened just after 10 p.m.
