Local fighter Jimy "The Kid" Hettes suffered his first career loss at the hands of Marcus Brimage in the FX Prelim to UFC 152 on Saturday night.

The 25-year-old out of Swoyersville was previously undefeated in fighting competition, but his record now drops to 10-1 after a unanimous decision for Brimage. Each judge had the fight scored 29-28 after three five-minute rounds of fighting.

Hettes' best round was the second, when he had Brimage (6-1) on the canvas for a couple of minutes. He could not score the submission, something Hettes had done in nine of his previous 10 bouts.

Brimage was dominant in the first round, landing a number of boxing-style blows to Hettes' head. He avoided trouble the rest of the way, sticking more to boxing than grappling and trying to avoid the clutches of Hettes, who had a decided height (5 inches) and reach advantage.
