PITTSTON: The Pittston Memorial Library, 47 Broad Street, is collecting Christmas cards for the troops. The cards can be handmade or purchased, signed with encouraging messages and decorated. Envelopes should not be sealed or stamped. Completed cards can be dropped off at the front desk. The deadline is Nov. 12.

A card-making party will take place at 6 p.m. on Nov. 12 at the library. There is a basket of unsigned greeting cards at the front desk to sign for the troops. Used and unused Christmas cards are also being accepted and can be dropped off at the library.
