NORTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA: First National Community Bank (FNCB) is participating in the American Bankers Association Get Smart About Credit program. The program is designed to teach high school students a lifetime of good credit habits.
Along with a corresponding savings education program for elementary students, FNCB employee volunteers have offered financial education lessons to more than 1,600 students at 37 schools throughout Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne and Monroe counties in the past year.
As part of the financial literacy programs, area teachers are encouraged to schedule a classroom visit with a financial expert from FNCB who can offer lessons on basic savings, interest, budgeting, using credit cards wisely, understanding a credit report and protecting personal information.
Educators interested in scheduling a credit or savings presentation for their classroom should contact Mike Cummings at 558-6722 or email email@example.com.
