NEWPORT TWP.: The Newport Township Community Organization is accepting old, unwanted Christmas electrical decorations, such as light strings, for recycling. The copper cords of these electrical devices can be recycled. The group is also accepting any unwanted metal items. The items are collected as a fundraiser to help defray the costs of the group's newsletter and other activities. Items can be dropped off at 55 Newport St., Glen Lyon, or contact Tom Kashatus, first vice president, at 736-6981, or [email protected] to make arrangements for pick up.
WYOMING: Friends of the Wyoming Free Library recently held elections for officer posts. Newly elected officers are Susan Doty, president (incumbent); Lindsay Rysz, vice president; Ronnie Spliethoff, secretary; Mary Sinibaldi, assistant secretary; and Rae Anusiewicz, treasurer.
