FORTY FORT/KINGSTON: Wyoming Seminary Upper School in Kingston and Lower School in Forty Fort are offering area elementary, middle and high school students and their families an opportunity to visit either campus during the Winter Visitation Day on Jan. 21.
At the Lower School, 1560 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, Visitation Day will begin at 8:30 a.m. Students can experience a typical day at the school by shadowing students in their current grade level and joining with other students for lunch. Parent tours of the school, which will include a review of financial aid, will be available at 8:30 a.m. and at 2 p.m.

The Upper School Visitation Day program will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Stettler Learning Resources Center, North Sprague Avenue, Kingston. Students will attend a welcome address and presentations on preparing for college and co-curricular opportunities at the school, tour the campus and join current students for lunch and a sampling of classes. Parents may also tour the campus and attend discussions on affordability and the Merit Scholarship Program. Visitation Day activities will end at 2:30 p.m. Admission interviews will be given upon request.

Information about the school's 2013 Merit Exam, to be held on Feb. 2 at both Lower and Upper Schools, will also be available during this event.
WILKES-BARRE: The McCann School of Business and Technology, Wilkes-Barre campus, 264 Highland Park Blvd., is hosting a Winter Wake-Up open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The event includes a pancake breakfast at 10 a.m.; chair massages at 10 a.m.; financial aid workshop at 10 a.m.; women's self-defense class at 10:45 a.m.; career building workshop at 11:30 a.m. and an introduction to excel class at 12:15 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and staff and tours of the campus will be available. Reservations can be made by calling 1-877-260-2409.
WILKES-BARRE: Attorneys Ruth and Kim Borland will be the 2013 co-chairs of the Family Service Association's annual campaign.
The Borlands are partners in Borland & Borland LLP, Public Square. They have two children, Sarah and Joe, both lawyers affiliated with the firm.
Ruth and Kim Borland graduated from Dickinson College. Ruth Borland graduated from Boston University School of Law and Kim Borland graduated from Harvard Law School.
The Borlands have worked with local volunteers on Valley Santa since 1984 and continue to coordinate the program. They launched the Meyers High School Speech and Debate Team in 1997 and serve as head coaches. They have also served on many charitable boards and committees in the community.
