The Jewish Community Center of Wyoming Valley (JCC) recently donated a significant archive collection of hundreds of photos of community events and people, scrapbooks, Jewish organizations' informational material and newsletters to the Luzerne County Historical Society. The society, with the help of members of the JCC, is organizing, identifying and indexing the collection and will be holding the collection in perpetuity for public research. Participants, from left: Amanda Fontenova, historical director of library and archive; Barbara Sugarman, adult and cultural director, JCC; Connie Roth, ‘Jews of Wilkes-Barre, 150 Years in the Wyoming Valley of Pennsylvania' and commemoration chairperson; and Anthony T.P. Brooks, director, Historical Society.
