• Tonight's opener is a rematch of last season's Freedom Conference title game, won 64-54 by the Cougars in Wilkes-Barre. Tyann McDaniel scored 15 points in the contest and was named tournament MVP.
• Misericordia was the only Freedom team to beat King's last season, including a 68-56 win in Dallas. The Lady Monarchs beat the Cougars 51-44 in the teams' other meeting in 2011-12.
• Freshman Jennifer Fabian made her first career start for King's on Monday in a non-conference win over Keystone, extending the team's winning streak to eight games. The Lady Monarchs hit a high mark of 13 straight wins last season.
• The Cougars also won a non-conference game on Monday, topping Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Sam Baro moved into the starting lineup in place of Caitlin Kessler.
• King's enters the game in second place in the Freedom standings, one behind FDU-Florham for first. Misericordia is tied with DeSales and Eastern for third.

Lineups based on last game
• King's pulled back into the conference race by winning both games last week, topping Wilkes and Manhattanville to sit in fifth place.
• After a 4-0 start, Misericordia lost a first-place battle at DeSales and couldn't hold onto a halftime lead at Delaware Valley. The Cougars are tied with DelVal and FDU for second.
• Misericordia won both meetings last season – 62-60 in Wilkes-Barre and 60-53 in Dallas – en route to the team's first Freedom Conference title.
• Monarchs guard Matt Fiorino was named Freedom Conference Player of the Week thanks to a career-high 28-point performance against rival Wilkes. The senior added 18 against Manhattanville while moving into second place all-time in program history by hitting his 190th career three-pointer.
• Tonight's game will be televised live on MyNetworkTV, with tip-off coming at 8:05 p.m. The teams will meet again on Feb. 12 at King's.
