WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University Colonels wrestling team earned a 28-6 victory over Johns Hopkins University Saturday, but lost to Centenary College (24-15), New York University (18-16) and Cortland State University (19-18) at the John Reese Duals at Wilkes University.
Kris Krawchuk earned three individual victories on the day in the 149 weight class, while Guesseppa Rea added two in the 125 weight class.
For King's College, former Lake-Lehman standout Shane Stark and Peter Dwyer both went undefeated at the John Reese Duals, but King's lost all four of its matches.
Chris Mazzocchi chipped in two victories in the 149 weight class, while Tommy Desir also added two wins in the 165 weight class.
Jill O'Malley finished 253rd with a time of 27:56, while Amanda Keegan placed 285th with a time of 28:45 to lead King's to a 46th place finish in the NCAA Mideast Regional Saturday.
Marina Orrson earned all-region honors with a time of 23:00 at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships Saturday at Dickinson College.
Orrson placed 21st to lead Misericordia to a 22nd place finish out of 49 teams.
Freshman Robert Moulton finished 61st with a time of 27:00 to lead the Monarchs to a 22nd place finish in the NCAA Mideast Regional Saturday.
T.J. Ferguson crossed the line next for King's, finishing 121st with a time of 27:58.
Caitlin Boyle and Meghan Antrim each scored a goal as the Lady Cougars earned a shutout victory over Lesley University and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Sam Helmsetter and Nikki Hensel each added an assist for Misericordia.
The Cougars battled Rochester through two overtime periods with the score tied at one, but lost by one goal in penalty kicks in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Dan Pinto scored the lone goal for Misericordia in the 64th minute off an assist from Eric Kishbaugh.
Andrew Reimann, Michael Sweeney and Matt Thompson each earned two individual victories to lead King's College to its first win of the season over Mount Saint Mary's College.
Reimann earned victories in the 1000-freestyle and 100-freestyle, while Sweeney won the 200-freestyle and 500-freestyle. Thompson chipped in victories in the 200-individual medley and 200-butterfly.
King's College captured its fourth win of the season behind Caroline Fitch, who finished first in the 1000-freestyle and 200-individual medley. Macawley Brown won the 50-freestyle and the 200-butterfly.
The Lady Monarchs' 400-medley relay team of Erin McLin, Patricia Manning, Kimmie Brino and Hailey Moorehead also earned a victory for King's.
