Local graduate receives memorial scholarship

Karen Hilenski, Hanover Township, a 2012 graduate of Good Shepherd Academy, received the Scott E. Snyder Memorial Scholarship. Hilenski is an active member of her church, St. Andre Bessette, where she volunteers at church festivals and events. She has also been a member of the Girl Scouts for 10 years. While at Good Shepherd, Hilenski was a safety patrol member, a Service Club member and was on the yearbook staff. She is active in sports and has played basketball for seven years. Hilenski is on the Holy Redeemer track and field team and the field hockey team. She also performs at KISS Theatre. Her future plans include being a Polish Union debutante and becoming an actress. She also plans on attending college and pursuing a teaching degree. Hilenski is the daughter of Karen Clarke-Hilenski and the late Paul Hilenski. She has an older sister, Samie.
