November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. This year, approximately 160,340 Americans are expected to die from lung cancer, accounting for 28 percent of all cancer deaths. That is why there is an entire month dedicated to this disease, raising awareness and increasing research to help put an end to it.
People like to think that lung cancer is a self-inflicted disease from smoking; the truth is that radon, secondhand smoke and air pollution all can cause lung cancer. The American Lung Association encourages everyone to help stomp out the stigma of lung cancer and create awareness around the disease.
The American Lung Association launched a new online resource – at www.MyLungCancerSupport.org – designed to guide and support those living with lung cancer and their loved ones during every stage of the disease. I encourage everyone affected by lung cancer to visit this website to learn more.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I watched the Red Mass for judges, lawyers and legislators on television. There in the front row was U.S. Sen. Bob Casey.
This is the man who voted against the Mexico City Policy, who voted to continue funding to Planned Parenthood (the largest abortion provider in this country) and who voted for Obamacare, which will force people to pay a separate premium if their plans cover abortions.
And what will you say when all Catholic schools, universities and hospitals close, as the church will not capitulate and violate its conscience and religious liberty by covering contraceptives, abortion-inducing drugs and sterilizations, as required by the Health and Human Services' mandate? I could go on and on.
The Democratic Party's platform supports abortion, notwithstanding the ability to pay, which is taxpayer-funded abortions and also supports same-sex marriage. With such an extreme platform, it is obvious that the days of the Pro-Life Democrat are gone. I actually don't think Governor Casey would be a Democrat if he were alive today.
God have mercy on this country and on all who believe that winning an election on false values is more important than saving their immortal souls!
