WILKES-BARRE â?? A Hanover Township man accused of driving away after fatally striking a 19-year-old woman in July will face a felony charge in Luzerne County Court.

Daniel Loughnane, 40, of West Liberty Street, appeared Wednesday for his preliminary hearing before District Judge Rick Cronauer, who forwarded a charge of accidents involving death to county court.

City police allege Loughnane, operating a 2006 Ford F350, struck Rebecca McCallick on Hazle Avenue on July 24 and drove away. McCallick died at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center shortly after she was struck, police said.

Loughnane is represented by Attorney Peter Paul Olszewski Jr.

Deputy District Attorney Alexis Falvello is prosecuting.
