Kelly Grevera, Wanamie, recently competed at the Talent Olympics Dance Competition held at the Fernwood Hotel and Resort in the Poconos. Grevera won first place for her routines in the Pointe, jazz and lyrical categories. She won second place for her pantomime routine. Grevera and her duo partner, Brooke Piscotty, received first place for their jazz routine and second place for their tap routine. In the modeling category she received first place for swimsuit, third place in sportswear and an honorable mention for formal wear. She also placed first and second place in the photogenic category. Grevera is a student at the David Blight School of Dance, Wilkes-Barre.
Christina Perry, White Haven, recently earned the Girl Scout Gold Award. Perry's project focused on fitness and nutrition for children. Her project addressed the importance of exercising and healthy eating in order to maintain good health and prevent childhood obesity. Perry created a two-day fitness and nutrition camp for local children. By earning the award, Perry has become a community leader and her accomplishments reflect leadership and citizenship skills.
