Nanticoke hit and run injures teen

Police said the teenage victim was riding a scooter near the intersection of Alden Road and West Union Street when he was reportedly struck by a vehicle at 10:05 p.m. A witness said the vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed when it struck the child and that the driver did not stop or brake, according to police.
The boy was transported by ambulance to Geisinger Wyoming Valley for medical treatment and was listed in stable condition at 1 a.m. Saturday, police said. Police did not release the victimâ??s name.
Police said the vehicle that struck the boy may be an older model four-door with front end damage and a broken headlight or turn signal.
