KINGSTON: The Kingston Senior Center, 680 Wyoming Ave., will be closed today.

Mediation with Jean will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

A bag lunch will be served on Jan. 8. The center will remain open for all activities. At 11 a.m. a presentation on season affective disorder will be given by Compassionate Home Care.

An alternate lunch of soup, sandwich and salad bar will be available on Jan. 9.

Blood pressure checks by Manor Care will be held at 10:30 on Jan. 10.

Members are reminded it is time to renew their memberships. Suggested donation is $5 per year. Membership cards will be updated. New members are welcome.

TUNKHANNOCK: Senior Peer Counselor volunteers recently met at Community Counseling Services, Tunkhannock, to celebrate the holiday season as a special thank you for their dedication to the senior citizens of Wyoming and Luzerne Counties throughout the year. Dr. Rakesh Sharma and Rhoda Tillman, program coordinator, expressed their appreciation for the work of the volunteers.

Anyone interested in becoming a Senior Peer Counselor volunteer or a care receiver may call Tillman at 836-3118 for more information.

WILKES-BARRE: The Rainbow Seniors met recently at Albright United Methodist Church for their Christmas Party.

The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. on Jan. 15. Election and installation of officers for 2013 will be held. Servers will be Jack and Dorothy Coach. New members are welcome.
