STATE COLLEGE - Some candidates for Penn State‚??s board of trustees want to honor the legacy of former head football coach Joe Paterno. Others want to the board to be more transparent in light of how it handled the fallout of the charges against Jerry Sandusky. Some want to address the rising cost of tuition. Those are a few of the reasons the 86 candidates wrote in their position statements that they‚??re seeking office. The position statements and biographical information were posted online by the university at www.psu.edutrustees/vote/2012‚??Alumni Voting begins April 10 and runs through 9 a.m. May 3. Three seats are open during this election and the winning candidates will take their seats on the board July 1. Alumni can receive a ballot by emailing BOTpsu.edu, providing the full name at graduation, year of graduation, college and major, current mailing address and current email addresses.
