SWOYERSVILLE – Police remind residents that an ordinance requires dog owners to have their dogs licensed, to clean up their mess and to have the dogs on a leash and under control at all times.


HANOVER TWP. -- Township police said 10 cases of deli style turkey was stolen during a burglary of an outside freezer at the Hanover Area Senior/Junior High School.


The burglary and theft was discovered Monday and occurred over the weekend.


A lock was cut to access the freezer, police said.


Each case contains four 10 pound deli style turkey at a cost of $125 each.


Anyone with information about the burglary and theft is asked to call Hanover Township police at 825-1254 or 911.


WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:


• Police said a man was spotted stealing items from multiple vehicles in the area of rear 87 W. Ross St. from 12:30 a.m. to 1:15 a.m. Thursday.


• A 12-year-old boy was taken to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center after he was struck by a 2007 Dodge driven by Amy Bravo-Gaspar of Wilkes-Barre at Coal and North Fulton streets at 5:44 p.m. Wednesday.


Police said the boy ran into the street when he was struck.


The boy suffered injuries to his arm and leg, police said.


Bravo-Gaspar and three juvenile passengers in the car were not injured.
