PLAINS TWP. – Township police reported the following:

• Police took into custody Jeremiah Hightower on an outstanding arrest warrant for allegedly violating a no-contact protection from abuse order.

Police said Hightower violated the order on at 12:49 a.m. Sunday at the Relax Inn on Route 315 and was taken into custody at the Luzerne County Courthouse on Wednesday.

He was transported to District Judge Diana Malast, Plains Township, for arraignment and then taken to Luzerne County Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.

• Police arrested James Artis-Bryan of Hazleton on charges of providing false identification to a police officer and driving without a license at 10:38 a.m. Wednesday on Route 315.

Police said Artis-Bryan gave an officer a false name and date of birth after he was stopped for an alleged red traffic signal violation.

He was arraigned before District Judge Diana Malast, Plains Township, and released on his own recognizance.

HANOVER TWP. – Township police charged Dominic Dooley, 18, of East Northampton Street, Wilkes-Barre, with driving a stolen vehicle.

Police said they spotted a white Jeep Cherokee traveling on Hazle Avenue and turning onto Spring Street at about 1:15 Thursday morning. The Jeep was stolen in a carjacking in Scranton on Sunday, police said.

Dooley, driving the Jeep, turned into the Hanover Village apartment complex, where he was stopped. A 17-year-old male passenger in the Jeep was charged with possessing a small amount of marijuana, police said.

Dooley was charged with receiving stolen property. He was released without bail after an arraignment Thursday morning.

PLYMOUTH – A student at Wyoming Valley West was arraigned Thursday on charges he threatened to blow up the high school.

Sajion Edmonds, 18, of Ryman Avenue, Luzerne, was charged with two counts each of terroristic threats, bomb threats and institutional vandalism. He was arraigned by District Judge David Barilla in Swoyersville and released on $4,000 unsecured bail.
