LAKE TWP. – State police at Wyoming arrested Matthew Wilcox, 31, of Harveys Lake, on charges he stole a 1992 GMC Somona from a residence on state Route 29 on Monday.
The truck was recovered in a parking lot at Union Street and Courtdale Avenue in Luzerne, where Wilcox was arrested.
Wilcox was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail.
LAKE TWP. – State police at Wyoming said property was stolen from a barn, owned by John Roskos, on Loyalville Road between Oct. 1 and Nov. 12.
In related incidents, Jackson Township police are investigating several barn burglaries that have been reported in October and November.
FRANKLIN TWP. – A bronze vase was reported stolen from a grave site at Memorial Shrine Cemetery, state police at Wyoming said.
There have been several bronze vases stolen from the cemetery in recent months.
EDWARDSVILLE – Police arrested three people on drug offenses after investigating a domestic disturbance at an apartment on Zerby Avenue on Monday.
Erick Shamir Mondelice, 22, of Priestly Street, Lamar Russell Bobbett, 27, of Northampton Court, and Zachariah Lopez, 20, of North Washington Street, all in Wilkes-Barre, were found hiding in a basement at 193 Zerby Ave. at about 2 p.m.
Police allege they were in possession of marijuana, according to the criminal complaint.
Mondelice, Bobbett and Lopez were charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail each.
KINGSTON – A Glen Lyon man was arrested last week on child pornography charges.
Alexander Dominick Passetti, 19, of Coal Street, was charged with 20 counts of possession of child pornography and a single count of criminal use of communication facility. He was arraigned by District Judge Paul Roberts in Kingston and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
According to the criminal complaint:
A service technician at Kingston Custom Computers discovered suspected child pornography on a laptop computer that was brought in to remove a virus in August.
Kingston police Detective Stephen Gibson and Luzerne County Detective Charles Balogh traced the laptop computer to Passetti.
Passetti allegedly admitted he used the laptop computer to download child pornography, the complaint says.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Dec. 11.
WILKES-BARRE – Police are investigating an armed robbery at Turkey Hill on Carey Avenue early Tuesday morning.
A man entered the store just after midnight and demanded money from a clerk.
Police did not release details about a description of the suspect.
HANOVER TWP. -- John Thompson, of Water Street, reported his black 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer was stolen from his driveway late Sunday or early Monday. The vehicle has a Pennsylvania license plate HRZ-4654 and should have a U.S. Marine Corps vanity plate on the front and Marine Corps stickers on the back.
