WILKES-BARRE - City police are investigating a robbery turned assault at the Uni Mart store on Hazle Avenue earlier this month.
Police said a man entered the store at about 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 3 and waited for other patrons to leave. The suspect grabbed the clerk, choked the clerk from behind and threatened his life, police said.
A security camera recorded the assault and robbery.
Police believe the suspect had a beard and drove a dark-colored sedan.
He was wearing a camouflage jacket and red pajama type pants.

HAZLETON – State police at Hazleton will be conducting sobriety checkpoints in southern Luzerne County during the Thanksgiving holiday season.
WILKES-BARRE – Police investigating a domestic disturbance in a motel's parking lot arrested a man on gun and drug offenses on Monday.
Mason E. Manns, 19, address listed as the Travel Lodge on Kidder Street, was charged with firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of a concealed weapon in a public place and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. He remained jailed Wednesday at the county prison for lack of $35,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on Nov. 29.
