WILKES-BARRE – Irvando Anthony Crooks, 20, of Wilkes-Barre, was arrested at about 3 p.m. Thursday on a charge of sale and manufacture of crack cocaine at a Sambourne Street residence, state police at Wyoming said.
Police seized about 5 grams of crack cocaine during the investigation. Crooks was jailed overnight at Luzerne County Correctional Facility to await arraignment, police said.
State Police Troop P Vice/Narcotics Unit and Wilkes-Barre City Police conducted the investigation.
HAZLETON – While investigating a report of people trespassing at 49-51 N. Pine St. – a structure posted as unsafe for human occupancy – at 4:11 p.m. Thursday, police arrested Bradesky Santos and Luis Rodriguez, both 19 and both of Hazleton, and charged them with felony criminal trespass, city police said.
Santos, police said, was also in possession of 12 packs of heroin and faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Several days earlier, police had removed a firearm from the structure after a report of someone being threatened with a firearm, police said.
EDWARDSVILLE – A woman struck by a vehicle on state Route 11 Sunday night remains in critical condition at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township, Officer Michael Lehman said.
Neither her name nor the name of the driver of the vehicle that struck her was released.
Lehman said he has been unable to speak with the woman due to her medical condition. He noted he is waiting for a report from state police who reconstructed the accident.
The woman was struck by a vehicle on Route 11 near the Wendy's restaurant. The road was shut down between the Mark Plaza and the West Side Mall entrances for several hours as authorities investigated. One of the woman's sneakers and her glasses lay on the pavement about 25 feet apart in the southbound passing lane of the road.
WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:
• Police arrested a man trespassing in a condemned house on Alexander Street on Thursday.
Phillip R. Jennings, 28, no known address, was found in a second floor hallway at about 11:10 a.m. The house was condemned by the city as unfit for human habitation. Jennings was charged with criminal trespass and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail.
• James Susek reported Wednesday an unknown person threw a large rock through a window at a business on Blackman Street.
• James Passetti reported Wednesday a window was smashed on his vehicle when it was parked in the area of 643 Hazle Ave.
DORRANCE TWP. – State police at Hazleton reported an unknown person entered the residence of Robert Bladassano on Alberdeen Road and stole items Thursday night into Friday.
