WILKES-BARRE – Police arrested Sean Snitko, 29, of Edwardsville, on assault and other charges following an alleged domestic disturbance at 110 Poplar St. at 4:50 p.m. Wednesday.

Police were called to a second floor apartment at the address, they said, following complaints of a woman screaming.

Carol Hinz told police she was arguing with Snitko, her boyfriend, and that Snitko pushed her onto a couch then dragged her to the floor, according to police. Hinz said she told Snitko to leave and tried to push him from the apartment, at which time he put her in a headlock and took her to the floor, police said.

Hinz had abrasions on her chest and red marks on her neck, police said.

Snitko was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Rick Cronauer, Wilkes-Barre, on charges of simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment. He was remanded to Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 monetary bail.
