WILKES-BARRE – City police reported the following:

• Rose Burnett, of 165 N. Sherman St., reported on Saturday that someone entered her apartment through a rear bedroom window and stole three televisions, jewelry and a Wii game system.

SUGARLOAF TWP. – Christopher Brooks, 49, of Sacramento, Calif., suffered minor injuries when he was driving north on Interstate 81 in the passing lane just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. He became distracted, began traveling into the right lane, swerved and lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel across the right lane, strike an embankment and roll onto its roof, state police in Hazleton said.

A citation was filed for allegedly violating the section of motor vehicle code dealing with roadways laned for traffic, police said.

HANOVER TWP. – Police investigating a report of suspected drug activity Saturday arrested Shawn Burgess, 37, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant of receiving stolen property charges related to a gun.

Police said they found Burgess with two other people inside a parked vehicle in the Salvation Army store parking lot on the Sans Souci Parkway. The three people were taken into custody. The two people with Burgess were released.

He was transported to the county prison, where he was committed on the warrant.

AVOCA – John Henry James Orazewski, 34, of Hanover Township, was issued a summary citation of harassment Saturday after he grabbed the hair of the woman he was traveling with and slammed her head against the passenger-side window of the vehicle, state police said.

Orazewski and the 33-year-old woman were involved in an argument in the vehicle at Exit 178B of Interstate 81 southbound, state police said.

WILKES-BARRE – Stephanie Lee Visneski was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Wyoming County after she was found asleep in her vehicle with the motor running Sunday morning in the area of 328 Parkview Circle, police said.

When she was taken into custody, she had a hypodermic needle in her right pants pocket and glass crack pipe in her purse, police said. She was transported to the county prison and held on the warrant.

WILKES-BARRE – A man reported his North Main Street apartment was burglarized and a television, laptop computer and other items were stolen, police said.

The victim told police he locked and left his apartment at 6 p.m. Wednesday and returned at 10:50 a.m. Friday to find it had been burglarized.

Taken were a 42-inch Westinghouse HD LED TV, an Acer laptop computer, 550 DVDs, 60 WWE/TNA wrestling action figures and a Polar Express train set.
