NANTICOKE - Police are investigating an armed robbery in the 400 block of East Church Street Thursday night.

A man returned home from work at about 9:40 p.m. and saw an unknown man exit the rear driver's side door of a gray SUV, police said.

The suspect, described by police as a black male wearing a green puffy jacket, approached the man, aiming a handgun at him, police said. The man told police he surrendered his wallet, cellphone and various credit cards.

The man was ordered to the ground and was tied up, police said. His keys were taken from him and his car, which was parked in a garage, was ransacked.

The man told police he heard at least two other men talking to the gunman.

Anyone with information about the armed robbery and assault is asked to call Nanticoke police at 735-2200.
