PLAINS TWP. – Township police on Tuesday went to the residence of Nancy Miller on Hudson Road to serve her with a subpoena to attend a Protection From Abuse violation hearing against her boyfriend, Robert Betts, and observed Betts in her apartment.
Betts was arrested and arraigned before District Judge Diana Malast and released on his own recognizance pending another scheduled hearing, police said.
Betts had violated the PFA order three times, police said.
WILKES-BARRE – The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement has cited DMK Watering Hole – doing business as Don Kasper's Watering Hole, 129 Scott St. – with violating the state liquor code and crimes code on May 16 by possessing or operating gambling devices or paraphernalia or permitting gambling or lotteries, pool selling and/or bookmaking on the premises, police said.
