Royals alum Alexis takes CACC rookie accolade

A double-double average over a three-game span earned Philadelphia University freshman power forward Peter Alexis, formerly of Holy Redeemer, the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference rookie of the week award, the conference announced Monday.


Alexis averaged 12.3 points and 11.3 rebounds in a 2-1 week for the Rams. In the season opening win over University of the Sciences, Alexis had 11 rebounds, eight points and four blocks. He collected 12 points and 12 blocks against Molloy and then ended the week with a career-high 17 points and 11 rebounds against UMass-Lowell.


 


WOMEN'S SWIMMING
Monarchs' Manning named swimmer of the week

King's College standout Patricia Manning has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week, the MAC announced Monday.


In a 112-93 road win over Lebanon Valley, Manning won the 200 individual medley, the 100 backstroke and the 100 breaststroke.


In a loss to Hood, she won the 1000 freestyle, 200 breaststroke and was part of the Lady Monarchs' victorious 200 freestyle relay team.
