Sixth-grader wins Heights-Murray Spelling Bee

Heights-Murray Elementary School, Wilkes-Barre Area School District, recently held its eighth annual Spelling Bee. Students from fifth and sixth grade competed against each other according to rules based on the National Spelling Bee. The winner will move on to the regional championship held at the Woodlands Inn & Resort. The winner of the regional competition is awarded a trip to Washington, D.C., to participate in the National Spelling Bee sponsored by The E.W. Scripps Company. Jennifer Ajao, sixth grade, was named the Heights-Murray champion.
