Fulfilling a dream to be married on the beach with the sun above, the sand below and the breeze at their backs, Amanda Russ and Joseph Speicher Jr. were wed at 8 a.m. on July 18, 2012, on the 33rd Street Beach in Ocean City, Md., by officiate Sean Rox.
Approximately 30 guests accompanied them for the morning ceremony, with numerous additional family and friends joining them for a beach-themed reception celebration on July 28 at The Checkerboard Inn Grove. The groom and his bride chose Now or Never by pan.a.cea as their first song to dance to as husband and wife. A big thank-you to Paul Young.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas Russ and the late Phyllis Russ, Dallas. She is the goddaughter of Maureen Matiska.
Mandie is employed by the Dallas Area School District and The Checkerboard Inn, Trucksville.
She chose her best friend, Kerri McKeown, as her matron of honor.
The groom is the son of Carolyn and Joseph Speicher Sr., Wilkes-Barre.
He is employed as a service manager at Forty Fort Lube and Service, Kingston.
He chose his brother, Sean McDonough, as his best man.
The bride was honored with a house shower hosted by her godmother and matron of honor. An after-wedding breakfast was hosted by the groom's parents in Ocean City, Md.
The couple resides in Wyoming.
