St. Lukeā??s marks National Back to Church Sunday

St. Luke's United Church of Christ, 471 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, recently held a special church service and breakfast to mark National Back to Church Sunday 2012. More than 12,000 churches across the United States participated in this national event to welcome people back to church who have not regularly been attending or who do not belong to a church. The church recorded almost double regular attendance for the service and breakfast. St. Luke's Church leadership who attended and helped plan the event, from left, are David Hines, deacon; Robert Hooley, elder; the Rev. Justin J. Victor; Mark Rubando, deacon; Doni Rubando, elder and Consistory Board vice president; Ruth Schmitt, elder. Other members who helped include Darlyn Edwards, Consistory Board president; and Jean Dombroski, treasurer.
