King's College recently presented $2,700 to St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen from the proceeds of the college's involvement in Empty Bowls, a collaborative fundraising project that also included Wilkes University, Luzerne County Community College and Misericordia University. Proceeds from the event were divided equally among the four participating colleges and each selected a resource in its community that addresses hunger. At the check presentation, from left: the Rev. John Ryan, president, King's College; Jean Adams, Wilkes faculty member and chair of the Empty Bowls event; and Mike Cianciotta, manager, St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen.
