PITTSBURGH — State police are encouraging people to add a blue light to their holiday window decorations in honor of fallen officers and their families.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Monday that Project Blue Light was developed by Concerns of Police Survivors Inc., a national nonprofit that represents more than 15,000 families of officers killed in the line of duty.
When I drive by, it does make my heart warm, Trooper Steve Limani said.
Trooper Stefani Plume of the Uniontown barracks said the blue lights indicate support for working officers or those who have lost a colleague, friend or family member.
