MONSTERS, INC. 3D – Monsters University comes out in June and is a good excuse for converting the computer-animated Monsters, Inc. to 3-D for a prequel. G. 92 mins.
PARENTAL GUIDANCE – A mild-mannered riff on parenting, then and now. PG for some rude humor. 100 mins.
RISE OF THE GUARDIANS – Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and the Sandman have bigger callings. PG for theme and mildly scary action. 97 mins.
SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK A head-spinning wonder of a movie about love, pain, reinvention, rehabilitation and the totemic power of an NFL franchise. R for profanity, sex, drugs, violence, adult themes. 120 minutes
