Marcella Ann Sorber and Adam Matthew VanHorn were united in marriage on April 14, 2012, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Hunlock Creek, by the Rev. Richard Fox.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Mary Ann Sorber, Hunlock Creek. She is the granddaughter of Irene Stasko and the late Raymond Stasko and the late Donald and Shirley Sorber.
The groom is the son of Michael and Ellen VanHorn, Saint Mary's. He is the grandson of the late Emery and Francis VanHorn.
The bride was given away by her mother and father. She chose her sister, Miranda Sorber, as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Marissa Sorber, sister of the bride, and Jessica and Brittney Piatt, cousins of the bride.
The groom chose his friends, Brian Kowalczik, New York, as best man and David Dengate, Germany, as groomsman. The bride's uncle, Paul Piatt, was an usher and escorted the bride's grandmother down the aisle.
Readings and intentions were given by Michele Piatt, the bride's aunt and godmother, Jessica and Marissa. The gifts were presented by Brittney and Miranda.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a reception at R&D Memories. The couple chose My Light by Sully Erna for their first dance as husband and wife. Prior to the big day, the bride was honored with a shower by her mother and bridesmaids.
The bride is a 2003 graduate of Northwest High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in structural design and construction engineering technology from The Pennsylvania State University in 2007. She is a project coordinator for Penn State.
The groom is a 1999 graduate of Saint Mary's High School. He served six years with the U.S. Air Force before attending The Pennsylvania State University in 2005. He is a resident project representative for ARRO Consulting in Lancaster.
The couple plans to take a honeymoon to Germany in the future.
