WILKES-BARRE -- City police have closed several streets in downtown Wilkes-Barre this afternoon and evening as part of the ongoing investigation into the hit-and-run death of Kevin Miller.
Miller, 5, of Dallas, was struck and killed by vehicle, believed to be a red Pontiac Grand Am, on West North Street on Dec. 21. Investigators seized a red 1999 Grand Am on Jan. 4 from the residence of Thomas Letteer Jr., 22, of Plains Township, whom Luzerne County District Attorney Stefanie Salavantis identified as a “person of interest” in the fatal crash.
Police have closed North Street between River and North Washington streets, North Main Street between Jackson and Beaumont streets, and Jackson Street between North Main and North Washington streets with police tape and expect the investigation will continue into the evening.
