The Rotary Club of Plains has been donating new winter coats to needy children in the Plains Township area for the past three years. The club works with the SS. Peter and Paul Food Bank to identify children who need a warm winter coat. The Rotarians raise funds through two major fund raisers, the Pasta in the Park dinner and the annual golf tournament. This year, retired Chief John Coyne became aware of this program and made a substantial donation to help cover the cost of the coats.
