Wyoming Area rallies in second half to knock off Nanticoke

NANTICOKE — Wyoming Area rallied with three second half goals for a 4-2 win on the road against Nanticoke in a Wyoming Valley Conference girls soccer matchup.

Sam Acacio scored twice for the Warriors, her second coming on a penalty kick in the 72nd minute that slammed the door on the Trojans. Myiah Custer and Valerie Bott scored a minute apart to put Wyoming Area ahead for good.

Brittany Sugalski led Nanticoke with a goal and an assist.

First half: 1. WA Sam Acacio (Chaslyn Facciponti) 3rd minute; 2. NA Brittany Sugalski (unassisted) 12th minute; 3. NA Lindsey Lane (Sugalski) 24th minute.

Second half: 1. WA Myiah Custer (unassisted) 53rd minute; 2. WA Valerie Bott (Acacio) 54th minute; 3. WA Acacio (Penalty) 72nd minute.

Tunkhannock 3, Meyers 0

Tunkhannock's two first-half goals proved to be enough in a win at home against Meyers.

Jacob Hughes tacked on an insurance goal late in the second half for the Tigers.
