FORTY FORT/KINGSTON: Wyoming Seminary Lower and Upper Schools are hosting a spring open house event on Saturday, March 21, for students and their parents interested in learning more about the schools.

The open house at the Lower School, 1560 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, will be noon-2 p.m. and will feature campus tours, information on the school’s academics, arts, athletics and activities programs, opportunities to meet faculty and students and details about admission and affordability. Visitors are invited to use the front door entrance on Wyoming Avenue and gather in the entrance lobby.

The open house at the Upper School, North Sprague Avenue, Kingston, will be 1-4 p.m. and will offer a campus tour, opportunities to meet students and information about the school’s academics, arts, athletic and activities programs, and admission and affordability information. Visitors should convene in the Kirby Library on the second floor of the Stettler Learning Resources Center on North Sprague Avenue.

Pre-registration is requested but not required. KINGSTON: Wyoming Valley West School District is conducting kingergarten registration for the 2015-2016 school year during the month of March. Parents may register children for kindergarten if the child is five years of age on or before Sept. 1. First-grade entrants must be six years of age on or before Sept. 1.

Kindergarten registration can be accessed at all times online by visiting www.wvwspartans.org. If a computer is not available, participants can call the Central Office at 570-288-6551 ext. 10602 and make an appointment to use a district computer. After registration is completed online, participants will be prompted to make an appointment with the registrar.

At that time, parents must present the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, parent/guardian identification and proof of residency.

Parents will be notified of a date in April for the kindergarten screening process. Screening tests include vision, hearing, education, gross motor control and immunization/health history.
