CONYNGHAM: The Sunday School at Conyngham United Methodist Church, 411 Main St., recently completed a mission project collecting materials for Ruth’s House, Wilkes-Barre. DALLAS: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church is hosting the Rev. Wilma Rommel, vice president of Iglesia Evangélica Luterana Unida (United Evangelical Lutheran Church of Argentina and Uruguay) on Sunday May 24, the Feast of Pentecost. Rommel will bring greetings from the Lutheran Church of Argentina and Uruguay, a companion church to St. Paul’s, and share in the congregation’s worship, including the Rite of Confirmation.

Rommel will be making an official visit to the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America beginning May 20. Her visit to St. Paul’s, a congregation of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod, will be part of her official visit. She will also meet with the synod’s Companion Synod Committee for a study and discussion on sustainability in the church’s mission and on the continuing companion relationship between the two churches.

MOUNTAIN TOP: Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 7768 Blue Ridge Trail, is holding its annual 300 Club fundraiser at noon on Saturday, June 20. For the admission price of $35, two people are given a pass to free food and entertainment for the day plus a ticket which enters them in hourly drawings for monetary prizes. Grand prizes will be drawn at 6 p.m. It is not necessary to be present to win. For those who don’t want to be entered in the drawings, the admission price is $15 and includes food and entertainment.

Entertainment will be provided by the Mud Pond Boys and Big Carl and Sundance. A silent auction, with call at 5:30 p.m., will also be held. A 300 Club ticket is not necessary for the auction. There will also be games and prizes for the children.

PECKVILLE: SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Catholic Church, Olyphant, will celebrate the feast of Pentecost from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, at St. Cyril’s Cemetery Chapel, 300 block of Gino Merli Drive.

The Divine Liturgy will be sung in church Slavonic by the choir under the direction of Patrick Marcinko. Parishioners attending will stand at the monuments of their families during the service. A Panakhyda will be celebrated after the liturgy, followed by the blessing of the graves. All are invited to attend. Plenty of free parking is available. Participants should bring their own chairs.

WILKES-BARRE: Calvary Bible Church, 186 Sambourne St., is hosting a “Cola Clash” for teenagers at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, June 10-12. Minutemen Ministries will lead the athletic competition between the Cola and Pepsi teams. A Bible challenge will be given and food will be served. The event is free and friends are invited.
