The local average gas price dropped by a penny overnight, while the state and national averages went unchanged.

AAA Mid-Atlantic provided the following figures for today’s average gas prices:

• Wilkes-Barre area gas average at $2.83 today, down a penny overnight and down a penny in the last week. Diesel at $3.19 today, unchanged overnight.

• Pennsylvania gas average at $2.89 today, unchanged overnight and down a penny in the last week. Diesel at $3.21 today, unchanged overnight.

• National gas average at $2.78 today, unchanged overnight, down 2 cents in the last week. Diesel at $2.85 today, down a penny overnight.
