Megan Lorraine Rowlands and Thomas Joseph Sobieski, Jr. were blissfully united in marriage Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, at the Beaumont Inn, Dallas, by Dr. Christine E. Kiesinger, PhD and minister. The bride is the daughter of Mary Louise Rowlands Mamary of Pittston and David Rowlands of Laflin. She is the granddaughter of the late Elved and Elizabeth Rowlands and the late Edward and Marion Dziewit.

The groom is the son of Maria Sobieski of Pittston and Thomas Sobieski of Manassas Park, Virginia. He is the grandson of Mary Hunt, San Jose, California and the late Gerard Hunt and the late Leonard and Marion Sobieski.

The bride was given away in marriage by her parents. She chose her best friend of 23 years, Danielle Smolley, to be her matron of honor. The groom selected his brother, Michael Sobieski, as his best man. Groomsmen were James and Benjamin Sobieski, sons of the groom. A bridal shower was hosted by the mother of the bride and matron of honor at The Cafe, Plains Township. The parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner for the couple there as well.

Megan is a 1998 graduate of Pittston Area High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in magazine writing from Syracuse University in 2002. She is employed as a copywriter for HBC Digital in Wilkes-Barre. She is also an internationally-published poet and freelance writer/editor.

Thomas is a 1993 graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in biology from East Stroudsburg University in 2003 and earned his Sommelier Certifications from the Philadelphia Wine School in 2014.

The couple had the time of their life honeymooning in Italy and currently resides in Trucksville.
