ERIE, Pa. (AP) — A northwestern Pennsylvania woman has pleaded guilty to embezzling more than $47,000 from a credit union where she was employed as chief executive officer.

Forty-seven-year-old Lisa Hauptmann entered the plea Monday in federal court in Erie to one count of embezzlement.

Prosecutors said Hauptmann took money from Oil Country Federal Credit Union in Titusville between November 2011 and May 2015. She had been CEO for about a year before she was indicted and before that was assistant manager.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Christian Trabold said the defendant used cash advances to take the money and made fictitious deposits, opening one account in the name of her deceased mother. He described the credit union’s paper-based system as “somewhat antiquated.”

Following her plea, Hauptmann was allowed to remain free pending sentencing June 13.
